Welcome to Emily Hughes Therapy, and thank you for visiting my page. If you are here it's probably because you are looking for some assistance with something that doesn't feel quite right at the moment. Sometimes we can't put our finger on exactly what's wrong, other times we know very clearly, but whichever it may be for you, something within you is feeling out of balance and has bought you here today, so welcome.
How Can I Help?
I have worked with clients in many different settings and environments, to enable them to work through past and present issues, ultimately finding more peace in every day life and becoming a better version of themselves. These issues range from anxiety, poor self esteem, trauma, OCD, eating disorders, depression; just to name a few. I have found over the years that Anxiety is the most common issue clients present with and it has therefore become my area of special interest and the topic I now specialise in. Anxiety and anxiety disorders are complex and can vary greatly from person to person, so my approach is always first and foremost to get to know my client's anxiety and as best as I can, begin to see their world, their way. This allows me to create the most effective therapy plan and sessions for each individual. I have dedicated my time to educating myself in the traditional, non traditional, modern and ancient ways we can improve our experience of anxiety and live a more peaceful life. It is the combination of psychology, philosophy and spirituality shared and discussed in my sessions that enable my clients to experience such change and growth.
Welcome to my Virtual Clinic!
My Virtual Clinic is the modern way to enjoy your counselling sessions from the comfort of your own home, with no travel time to factor in, no childcare to arrange and no journey out in the dark and cold after a long day at work! All you need is a cup of tea, a note pad and pen and a reliable WiFi connection. To make this service even more flexible and beneficial, you can choose whether your sessions are going to be an hour or half an hour, working them into your routine even more seamlessly. Face to Face Clinic
If virtual sessions aren't for you and you would like to have an in-person session, then you can visit me at The Wellness Barn in Ingatestone, where I am based 2 days a week. Your first visit is your initial consultation where I welcome you into the calming atmosphere of 'The Sanctuary' which comprises of my therapy room, and a beautiful Yoga studio. During this session I will take lots of information from you and use this to create the perfectly blended treatment plan for us to work with in order to achieve your desired outcome. After this session we will have weekly or bi-weekly sessions, lasting between 50 minutes and an hour. Our sessions will become your safe place; a time for you to off-load, explore, understand, learn and grow. I guide the sessions in a direction I think will be therapeutically helpful for you, however each sessions is client lead, meaning we work to your pace and in a way you feel the most comfortable.
